The Raconteur Radio Players are:

Carlye Owens as The Hornet.
Carlyle Owens (Actor) is a classically trained Shakes-pearean actor who has appeared regionally at Shakespeare & Company, The Great Lakes Theater Festival, and the McCarter Theater, as well as in numerous New York productions. He is a founding member of Raconteur Radio. Raconteur Radio roles include Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock Holmes & The Final Problem, Hank Morgan in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Thomas Edison in The Wizard of Menlo Park, Carl Phillips in The War of the Worlds, Britt Reid in The Green Hornet, Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby, James Bond in From Russia with Love, and Ishmael in Moby Dick, among others. He played Count Orlock in the recent Raconteur Venture production of Nosferatu: The First Vampyre, and multiple roles in the RV production of A Clockwork Orange. Owens teaches Theatre Studies at Pace University and Acting I at the Middlesex County Arts High School.

Laurence Mintz  (Actor) is a founding member of Raconteur Radio. Raconteur Radio roles include Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes & The Final Problem, Major Calloway in The Third Man, Professor Arronax in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Max in Sunset Boulevard, Nick Carroway in The Great Gatsby, Captain Ahab in Moby Dick, Rod Serling in The Twilight Zone, Victor Lazlo in Casablanca, Freddy Malins & the Voice of Joyce in James Joyce's The Dead, Merlin in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Henry Higgins in Pygmalion, the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and the Sheriff of Nottingham in The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, among others. He is regularly the host of the "broadcast," and, accordingly, the "voice" of Raconteur Radio. He played Herr Knock in the recent Raconteur Venture production of Nosferatu: The First Vampyre. Mintz teaches English Composition at Rutgers University.


Francesca Tedeschi
A former Boss couture model, Francesca Tedeschi (Actor/Singer) appeared in August with Josh Hartnet and Men in Black III with Will Smith. Francesca's first stage experiences were at the Metropolitan Opera House as a soprano in the children's chorus, which also brought her to Carnegie Hall as a vocalist by age 11. Raconteur Radio roles include Anna Schmidt in The Third Man, Miss Dimple in The Marx Bros, Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, and Ilsa Lund in Casablanca. Tedeschi sings musical interludes at select RR productions. Tedeschi continues to model occasionally.


Jane Hardy in Noserfatu: FV.
Jane Smith (Actor) is a former Off Broadway actress. She is a founding member of Raconteur Radio. Raconteur Radio roles include Gertrude Stein in Gertrude Stein, Getrude Stein, Leona Stevenson in Sorry, Wrong Number, Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca, Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, Jane Marple in Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, Kate Morkan in James Joyce's The Dead, Rosa Klebb in From Russia with Love, and the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, among others. Other performances include Shirley Jackson in a staged reading/premiere of an original one woman show about the author (at The Raconteur), the Innkeeper in the recent Raconteur Venture production of Nosferatu: The First Vampyre, and the sadistic Dr. Brodsky in the RV production of A Clockwork Orange. Hardy is an editor at the publishing house Bedford/St. Martin's


Danielle Illario


Danielle Illario (Actor) is currently performing in NY and NJ as a Jazz/R&B vocalist and recording artist. Raconteur Radio roles include Miss Wanderly in The Maltese Falcon, Tatiana Romanova in From Russia with Love, Anna Schmidt in The Third Man, Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Maid Marian in The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion, Ilsa Lund in Casablanca, Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, Gretta Conroy in James Joyce's The Dead, and Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz. Illario sings musical interludes at select RR productions.




Mike Jarmus as Captain Ahab.
Michael Jarmus (Actor) played a key supporting role in Dung Dot... (Don’t Burn It), Vietnam’s submission for Best Foreign Language Film in the 2010 Academy Awards. On stage he appeared recently at Lincoln Center as Boris Karloff and others in Jeepers Creepers, It’s Boris Karloff!  He is a founding member of Raconteur Radio. Raconteur Radio roles include Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, Harry Lime in The Third Man, Captain Nemo in 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Professor Pierson in The War of The Worlds, Gandalf in The Hobbit, Ernst Blofeld in From Russia with Love, Inspector Renault in Casablanca, Friar Tuck in The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, Dr. Watson in The Hound of the Baskervilles, Father Mapple in Moby Dick, and King Arthur in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, among others. Regionally, Jarmus has portrayed King Arthur in Camelot, Dracula in Passion of Dracula, and Carl Phillips in McCarter Theater's 50th anniversary of The War of The Worlds. For the past several years has performed The War of the Worlds as a one-man show. Jarmus’s other work includes television and radio commercials, narrations, audio books, film, video game characters and over forty years on radio as a music and talk host. Jarmus played assorted characters in the recent Raconteur Ventures production of Nosferatu: The First Vampyre.


Alex Dawson
Alex Dawson (Artistic Director/Writer/Sound Effects) is an award-winning playwright and the former artistic director of the Manhattan theater company, Bon Bock Productions (1998 - 2003). He has written and designed fifteen plays for the New York stage. He is an Overall Excellence Award winner (The New York International Fringe Festival) and a Critic's Choice Award winner (The Off, Off Broadway Review). From 2004 - 2012, Dawson was the owner of The Raconteur, a now defunct bookshop and performance venue in Metuchen, New Jersey. He is the founder of both Raconteur Radio and Raconteur Ventures, under whose auspices he directed the full blown  theatrical premieres, Nosferatu: The First Vampyre and A Clockwork Orange. He teaches creative writing at both Rutgers University and the Middlesex County Arts High School. Dawson has an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from the Writing Seminars at Bennington College and is the author of The Rapscallion Club, a forthcoming archeological adventure series for all ages.
